In the November 26 Education Age, a large advertisement appeared seeking a wide range of teachers and other staff for Al-Taqwa College, a co-education Islamic school with a student population of 1,100 from Prep to Year 12.
Like that other large Islamic school which used to be called King Khalid and is now renamed, Al-Taqwa has also changed its name recently. It used to be known as The Islamic School of Victoria – but don’t let’s worry about that, as I’m sure there’s a perfectly innocent explanation.
Its aim is to “provide for all learning needs while embracing and incorporating the Islamic Ethos”. Well, you can’t quibble with that, as Jewish and Christian schools also aim to impart a Jewish and Christian ethos. The difference of course is that Australia is based on a Judeo-Christian culture, which supports democracy, the rule of law, equal rights for women and minorities, whereas Islam is based on destroying that culture.
Apart from the usual subjects, obligatory for any school receiving government funding, the College also
“provides an opportunity for Islamic Education… The activities range from Islamic camps and lectures, Annual Quran competitions, Drama, Public Speaking, Debating and Inter- school competitions. Through these extended learning experiences, students foster and develop a sense of achievement and pride of their school and of themselves as young Australian Muslims. “
Yes, well let’s hope they put their skills to good use in upholding Australian values, but as these conflict with Islamic values, it could be tricky.
Subjects Offered for years 7 to 10:
- Islamic Studies
- LOTE (Arabic Language)
- English and ESL
- SOSE (Studies of Society and Environment)
- Information Technology
- Health and PE
Islamic Voodoo 4 – Islamic Biology.
“Our Islamic school puts a high priority on the moral education of our children. The Holy Prophet stated the foremost purpose of his being sent down in this world in his words: “I have been sent only for the purpose of perfecting good morals.”
As the students are urged to emulate Mohamed, watch out for a surge of gang rapes, looting and attacking infidels. And please don’t blame the Muslims for this; after all, they are only following their Holy Prophet’s good morals.
“Islam, an Arabic word meaning submission and obedience, is taught as part of the curriculum in Religion and in secondary years, the specialised subject Quran, is taught as supplementary to Religion.
In Religion, students develop an understanding of the fundamentals of Islam, and develop a strong understanding of Hadiths and practices of a good Muslim.
Students attend Mosque daily and engage in prayers, with direction from the school Imam. Although a co-educational school, the school endeavours to segregate boys and girls in the classroom and in the schoolyard.
The importance of learning the Arabic language… derives fundamentally from the fact that it is the language of the Quran…Arabic is a part of the curriculum from Preparatory years.
Islamic Studies is fundamental to the work of an Islamic School. It is provided throughout the classroom and through the experience of living together in a community where Islamic values are emphasized.
The school welcomes pupils from different cultural backgrounds and it expects every pupil to pray ‘Salat ul Zuhur’ in the school Mosque each day. Moreover, they are to acquire some understanding of Islamic beliefs and values through a study of the Holy Qur’an and in particular the life and work of the Prophet Mohammed (SAW).” (source)
Well, that all sounds perfectly satisfactory, and it’s reassuring to know that our Kev will be supplying computers to these students to enable them to supplement their Islamic education online, should the school not provide enough materials. They will be able to discover more about their Islamic heroes like Osama bin Laden and learn how to contribute to implementing the Islamic vision for a Calliphate and the full imposition of sharia in Australia.
Hang on a minute - surely this can’t be the same school that was in the news recently - something about a visiting Imam and bananas?
Strange that the headmaster of Al-Taqwa is XXX XXX, the same as at Werribee Islamic College, when the infamous event allegedly took place. Could it be that Al-Taqwa is Werribee Islamic College repackaged?
“The teacher could not believe what he overheard.’The imam told the students that the Jews were putting poison in the bananas and they should not eat them."
Werribee College is from all accounts an Islamic school with a difference…The Sunday Age has been told it appears intent on exporting its particular brand of Islam to Indonesia, an achievement made possible by generous commonwealth and state grants — estimated to be in excess of $3 million a year.
Werribee College appears to be the domain of Mr XXX and his family, who last week declined invitations to talk to The Sunday Age about the above incident involving the visiting imam and the school's management practices.
Although the Federal Government seeks to promote "a pluralist and tolerant society" in providing hundreds of millions of dollars to non-government schools… there is little direct state control over the quality of teaching or the content of course… Muslim schools are free to shape and direct students in a religious environment of their choosing. And there is nothing illegal about teaching students about the Taliban, Osama bin Laden or extreme interpretations of Islam.
… The treatment of female staff and students has become an issue over recent years, with attempts to pay female teachers less, prevent them from sharing offices with male teachers and the imposition of strict dress codes.
The teacher was alarmed that in the school library an image of Christ in a book on comparative religion had been defaced… students told her that another teacher, a devout Muslim, had asked them to demonstrate that Islam was the one true faith by striking the picture with sharpened pencils.
"They told me they had been made to line up and one by one stab the picture," the teacher told The Sunday Age.. "The atmosphere at the school was unhealthy," she said. "When you asked children to write about their favourite hero, they nearly always wrote about Osama bin Laden." (source)
Now where have I heard the name Al-Taqwa before?
Oh I know, the Al Taqwa Bank, a Swiss bank shut down by the US and the UN for ties to al-Qaeda, Hamas, and other radical militant groups. Al Taqwa directors were prominent members of the Muslim Brotherhood. Swiss investigators discovered a 14-page document entitled “The Project” which detailed a strategic plan whose ultimate goal is “the establishment of the reign of God over the entire world.” The document recommended supporting new holy war movements anywhere in the world, to support holy war in Palestine, and “nurture the sentiment of rancour with regard to Jews.” It also advocates creating a network of religious, educational, and charitable institutions in Europe and the US to increase influence there.
Al-Taqwa, which means ‘Fear of God,’ was launched… to create a financial institution, which would operate under strict Islamic law, and a number of the bank’s leaders had ties to Nazism or fascism. For instance Ahmad Huber, a Swiss convert to Islam, was both a director of the bank and an open neo-Nazi, whose office was adorned with portraits of Hitler, Heinrich Himmler, and Islamic militants. The founder of Al Taqwa, Francois Genoud, was a Swiss lawyer who funded the Nazis and served as a Nazi agent during World War II, and after the war helped many notorious Nazi fugitives escape to safe havens. He also paid for the legal expenses of ex-Nazis such as Klaus Barbie and Adolf Eichmann. It was not until November 2001 that the bank was finally shut down. By late 2002, both the US and UN declared the Al Taqwa Bank supporters of terrorism and froze all of their accounts worldwide. (reference)
I’m sure it’s just a coincidence that Werribee Islamic College has re-named itself after the Muslim Brotherhood terrorist financiers, and nothing at all to do with sharing the same ideology.
So nothing to worry about there!
Let’s just relax and enjoy the summer weather, secure in the knowledge that Rudd’ s at the helm and our country’s future is in good hands.
